The story of Intrigue Yellow® began with a cherished childhood memory—holding fuzzy baby chickens gifted to me during a summer trip from the Caspian Sea. I nurtured them tirelessly, realizing that these “immigrated” chickens, brought from Rasht to Tehran, needed great care to adapt. This experience mirrored my journey as a naturalized American for over 30 years, born and raised in Iran and Spain. Becoming a woman and mother in a new land required creating a lifestyle that honored my roots while easing the longing for home. It became time to give back.
America’s rich history of diversity and inclusion reminded me of ancient Persia’s multicultural essence, once the center of the civilized world. Thomas Jefferson’s admiration for the Cyropaedia and the recognition of Cyrus the Great in the Bible, along with my travels showcasing ancient Persia’s legacy, made me question why this legendary culture and its talented, humble people have been misrepresented in recent years. I asked, “Why?” My work in Chicago became a way to bring forth what Alexander the Great once called a “soft and luxurious” lifestyle, rooted in unified intelligence, health, and service to humanity. The 2020 pandemic intensified my mission. As a doctor of pharmacy and biologist, I sought ways to help my family reset and revitalize in the wake of crisis. Working from home became a rare privilege, allowing me to continue as a health advocate and “medical lifestylist” while raising my children. Despite limited formal education in Persian, I felt compelled to share its rich, often overlooked heritage—marginalized by gender and politics—and later invite scholars to join my effort to build a meaningful resource. Faced with my own health struggles, I resolved to create a new way of living well and wisely, akin to a cultural preservationist. I believed many cherished Persia but hesitated to express it. I asked again, “Why?” Being known solely for Persian rugs, cats, and kabobs was not enough. I wanted to revive the deeper essence of Persian culture through research and modern design. Bridging past and present, East and West, became my mission, offering a global Persian resource in a simple, slow-living format. As a woman, I dedicated myself to contributing to life and the earth through these values. As a doctor, I understood the scale of this project and knew it was bigger than myself. As a mother, I vowed to continue this work until my last breath, honoring my father’s legacy—a wise man of the Caspian who passed away at 105 in Chicago. Intrigue Yellow® was born from this commitment: a brand inviting all to connect, nurture, and thrive—a living testament to my experiences and Persian-American heritage.
